June, 2012 God's Growth Cycle
Years ago, the Lord gave me a vision of a cycle circle, a circle with an arrow that goes into another arrow on and on. He spoke this growth cycle to me.
Step One: Into the Head - Whenever we hear the Word, through reading the Bible, hearing a sermon, reading a Christian book, etc., we must accept it mentally. If we stop it right there, we have a "head knowledge" of the Word - only. This makes a cold person who does not grow as they should.
Step Two: Down in the Heart - We must allow the Word to be received into the heart, because "With the heart man believes unto righteousness." Romans 10:10 If the Word is stopped there, it makes a good person, but they're weak. Strength and spiritual growth depends on completing the growth cycle. We must take the next step if the Word is to have full effectual fruition in our lives.
Step Three: Out Through the Actions - To complete the growth cycle, we must act on the Word. James said, "I'll show you my faith by my works." James 1:21-25 says, "Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does."
The Lord Jesus talked about acting on His Word in Matthew 7:24-27, "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the wind blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."
God wants His children to be all He has ordained for us. Jesus created the Word for our use. Through it, we can become everything He has for us in this life. When we become "doers of His Word," we 'take off' in every area of our lives. Glory to the Name of Jesus!
