Isaiah 40:29-31, "He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
John 2:1-11 The story of Jesus' miracle at the wedding of Cana of Galilee. This story is about salvation, and it is NOT permission to use the drug alcohol. Alcohol is satanic.
John 2:5, Mary said, "Whatsoever He says unto you, do it." We need to be doers of the Word not hearers only.
Notice the servants' obedience to Jesus. Their obedience allowed them to be part of the miracle.
John 2:6, "And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying fo the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece." (30 gals.) Those pots had a purpose - to hold water. Water is a symbol of the Holy in the Bible. People are created for a purpose - to have the Holy Spirit in them in a relationship with Jesus by the born-again experience. We are all water pots.
Romans 8:9, "But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His." When we get saved, the Holy Spirit gives us a measure of Himself, a measure of faith. Notice that when those pots had water in them, then He made the water into wine - the wine of His Spirit. Jesus is showing that we get saved and then we get the further infilling of the Spirit. This infilling is recorded in Acts 1-2.
Water refreshes, but wine has a greater effect on the person for joy.
Psalm 103:15 The Holy Spirit strengthens the heart of man.
People gathered in the upper room on the day of Pentecost: Acts 1:12-14
Same people Jesus talked to in John 20:21-22 when He said, "Receive ye the Holy Spirit." He had already given them the Spirit. They were Christians.
These upper room people were the same ones Jesus spoke to in Acts 1:4-5 when He commanded them to "baptized in the Holy Spirit."
Mary, Jesus' mother, and His disciples received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. If it's good enough for them, it's certainly good enough for us. Jesus hasn't changed. His Spirit is still the same today as He ever was. Enjoy!
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets and false "believers" who speak against the things Jesus created for His Church to help us.
If you need to be refreshed, the Lord has that for you in His Spirit. Trust Him to do what He said He would do in His Word, "Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
